The END of Toys R US - The Woodlands child photographer

Only a few days left till the closing of Toys R Us.  I remember Geoffrey oh so well.

My boys, of course, remember the fun of shopping there and asking, "Mommy Can I get this?" and "Mommy, I need just this one", and "pllleeaasee".

For me,  it is the behind the scenes.  It is the many and countless hours I spent working in the Toy Industry - when Toys R Us, or TRU as it is known, was the king of all toys.   As a toy manufacturer, we would bow down  just to change the color of a doll's coat if a TRU buyer wanted it that way.  A order from TRU could help make your company continue staying in business!

Often I'd be found wandering through Toys R Us just to see what new toys, electronics, and dolls were being made for children.  How did they work? How were they packaged?   My love of photography was kicked up a notch during this era as I worked with NJ/NY models and hired studio photographers to create the images that would become part of our toy packaging.

It is sad to see the Lego section without any Legos.

Truly, I was hoping that the company might still make it. I am sad to see it go.

Happy shooting!
