On my 3 mile walk one day in my Woodlands neighborhood I  came across a few deer running in a field, , a Great Blue Heron flying down into a swamp area,  a Rosette spoonbill hunting,  and about 30 turtles.  A bit later I ran into my neighbor,  then we discovered this teeny purple flower and cool sun looking mushroom.

This flower is a Gregg’s Mist flower and Monarch butterflies love the nectar from on this flower on their journey south to Mexico.   My neighbor really looked at this flower more closely than I did.  A couple of days after our walk I went back with my Canon and a macro lens to capture a few close ups of mainly the interesting mushrooms, and since this purple flower was nearby I took images of it as well.

WOW! I’m so impressed with  how amazing this flower is with the macro lens!!  It’s teeny but this lens gives it so much drama!
